The overall design directive for the home was comfortable, clean, cozy, and intentionally lived-in, supporting the rhythm of a high-energy household filled with movement, creativity, and everyday messes. With a blend of bohemian and Scandinavian influences, HouseHome selected durable, washable rugs, family-friendly upholstered furnishings, and soft bounce-around tables to ensure the space remained both design-forward and kid-proof.

The non-traditional dining room, which unites family meals and weekend activities, becomes a central expression of the family’s lifestyle—blending education, gathering, and creativity into one cohesive space. This project stands as a defining example of HouseHome’s expertise in luxury family home design, basement remodeling, multi-functional interiors, and lifestyle-driven residential transformation.

Beyond the parent retreat, the unfinished basement was transformed into a fully functional playroom and homeschooling environment for the Gosselin children. Designed to support both learning and creativity, the space features custom hand-painted murals, warm wood shelving, and carefully curated toy and book displays, creating a joyful, stimulating environment that encourages imagination, movement, and education. This lower level now serves as a treasured childhood space, built intentionally to grow with the family for years to come.
