HouseHome is a boutique Interior Design Firm based in Denver, Colorado. Our team designs personal and professional spaces as a true reflection of the people who are living and working in them. We strive for excellence in all aspects of the design process from the first time you contact us, to our signature Design Day. Our firm has been blessed to work with hundreds of clients, designing spaces across the country from a Florida beach house, a quaint coffee shop in the Colorado mountains, to a busy suburban family home in Georgia and even internationally. It is our desire to bring your home or business to life with personality that not only fits the space, but the people who occupy it.

Christine Mechelse
OWNER + PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Christine has a natural eye for breathing life into tired spaces. She took her love of all things vintage and became an estate sale regular here in Colorado while primarily a stay-at-home-mom, expertly acquiring the most sought after authentic vintage furniture, art, and home decor to share in her vintage shop. Refreshing, refurbishing, and repurposing vintage pieces for clients deepened her love for the world of interior design and soon she was being called upon for design advice from her buyers. This prompted Christine to start her own business and offer her design services full-time. As design evolves, Christine has remained a reliable principal designer with an eye for creating spaces that are unique to the home or business, marrying modern and vintage designs that produce a timeless look and feel to be cherished for years to come. Christine loves to work with all design styles and challenges, and she continues to incorporate authentic, and often one of a kind, vintage pieces into her work as often as possible.
Christine is a Florida native and has lived in Georgia, Missouri, and North Carolina, before settling in Colorado in 2010. She has a passion and love for all things visually creative. History is her favorite subject. Authentic mid-century furniture is her weakness. She is a wife and mother of two amazing children and one lazy cat.
Mariah Cope
ASSOCIATE DESIGNER
Mariah Cope, a proud native of Colorado, has been making her mark in the world of Interior Design for over eight years. Throughout her career, Mariah has developed a profound passion and respect for creating spaces that not only reflect her clients' personalities but also emphasize functionality and meticulous attention to detail. Her educational journey, which includes a background in Digital Design from Grand Canyon University and an Associate's degree in Interior Design from Phoenix College, has laid the groundwork for her methodical, creative, and enjoyable approach to design.
After meeting her husband during their studies, the couple embarked on a new chapter together, moving back to Denver. For the past four years, Mariah has been an essential assistant and now Associate Designer at HouseHome. Her unwavering attention to detail and genuine heart for hospitality make her an invaluable asset to the team.
Outside of her professional life, Mariah and her husband have been busy with their son Bennett, born in August 2024. They also enjoy home renovations, spending quality time with family, traveling, and doting on their two adorable yet high-maintenance dogs.
Cassie Peterson
PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST
Cassie joins us with past careers in Journalism, Public Relations, Mothering and Marketing. Now that her three kids are older (upper teens and early 20s), she is making time to pursue a life-long passion in Interior Design. In addition to taking classes at Arapahoe Community College, she is learning all about the design world first hand by assisting Christine and Mariah.
More than 20 years ago, Cassie and Christine were good friends back in Florida. After years in California, the Petersons moved to Littleton, Colorado seven years ago. This coordinator job brought them back into each other’s lives. What a blessing!
When not redecorating her home or hybrid-homeschooling her teen, Cassie enjoys yoga, coffee with friends, growing spiritually with her church community, and bike rides with hubby. She also can be found giving her two doodle dogs rubs behind the ears and singing in the kitchen.
Margaret Waller
Design Lead
Margaret is passionate about creating life-giving spaces that combine beauty and functionality. She specializes in transforming everyday environments into peaceful sanctuaries, bridging the gap between the hustle of daily life and the calm we all crave. With a certification in interior design and years of experience, Margaret brings creativity, excellence, and a personal touch to every project, ensuring that each space feels like home.
Outside of design, Margaret enjoys county swing and line dancing, spending quality time with friends and family, and staying active in her church community. A proud Colorado native, she loves to travel and find inspiration in the world around her. Margaret is also deeply committed to ethical and sustainable fashion, working toward positive change in the industry one garment at a time.
Camila Pavalko
Design Lead
Camila, originally from Medellin, Colombia, is a passionate architect with a strong affinity for interior design who moved to Colorado in 2020. Her career journey shows her love for exploring different cultures and architectural details wherever she goes.
Camila is deeply committed to interior architecture, where she combines technical know-how with creative ideas. She carefully designs every detail to make spaces aesthetic and functional, and her focus on creativity ensures that her designs are visually pleasing and practical. Architecture isn't just about buildings; it's about crafting environments that inspire and improve daily life. She focuses on innovative design solutions that cater to each client's specific desires, creating beautiful and functional spaces.
Outside of her work, Camila finds inspiration in travel and cultural exploration. She sees architectural details as stories, which she seamlessly incorporates into her projects to blend creativity with practicality. These experiences enrich her outlook and fuel her continuous evolution and innovation in design.
Adriana Prochilo
Procurement Specialist
Adriana's passion for interior design began in childhood and solidified during her high school internship with HouseHome! After studying Interior Architecture in San Diego, she has returned to Littleton to continue her education at ACC. Currently working to develop her professional skills, Adriana is committed to becoming a designer who can transform spaces and bring dreams to life.
Originally from Littleton, CO, she loves spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, and trying new activities and cuisines. With a spirit of adventure and a love for travel, Adriana hopes to explore the world while pursuing her design career.
Kristin Rapert
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Kristin has a background in interior design, but ventured into the entrepreneurial world by launching her own Business Development and Marketing Agency a decade ago. Her mission is to assist clients in building, elevating, and growing their brands through foundational marketing and business development strategies and ethical business practices.
At HouseHome, she is the "Jack of All Trades Business Gal," orchestrating the behind-the-scenes operations that ensure the company's smooth functioning.
Kristin thrives on the dynamic environment at HouseHome, where she combines her type-A personality with a creative flair. She loves delving into the numbers and logistics while also finding inspiration in innovative ways to communicate and manage a creative firm. Working with the HouseHome team brings her immense joy, blending her analytical skills with her passion for creativity.
Kristin is a Nebraska native, settling in Colorado in 2018, and joining the HouseHome team in 2021. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children, traveling, gardening, historical fiction, and serving in her church.
Raegan Stanley
OFFICE ASSISTANT + INTERN
Heading into her senior year of high school, Raegan is jumping into the world of Interior Design as the HouseHome Assistant/Intern!
Raegan is the oldest of four children. She is a creative and adventurous young lady who loves to travel, ski, hunt, and paint. She is dedicated to transforming her passion for interior design into a flourishing career. With her exceptional organizational skills and fresh perspective, Raegan is a perfect fit for our team.
